With the National Hockey League's debut in 1917, the Ottawa Senators emerged as the league's first dynasty. They were triumphant, winning the Stanley Cup four times in the eight seasons from 1919‐20 to 1926‐27. In 1920.

Tommy Gorman (inducted as a Builder in 1963) was the engineer of the Senators and won three Stanley Cups with the team.
